Job Title: Test Engineer
Location: Irvine CA
Contract To hire
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain thorough understanding of grating performance characteristics (efficiency, wavefront, scatter)by grating type (ruled, holographic, echelle, transmission
Develop and maintain production test equipment (AEC, Bathtub, BEC, CEC, Dektak, HaMLET, MEC, NEC, PEC, all PMIs, scatter checker, 5-m and 10-m benches) – use, key design elements, key components and systems, control software and user interfaces.
Develop & maintain all testing work instructions, procedures & programs, for OEM and scientific customers.
Develop training plans for new hires and/or assist with cross-training current technicians to support establishing a more flexible manufacturing department.
· Interpret test results and troubleshooting questionable test results.
· Maintain calibration, maintenance &c of test equipment.
· Develop & maintain familiarity with Engineering test equipment (CHET, CHIMP, engineering scatter checkers
· Work with customers and Engineering to design gratings and grating systems.
· Interface with Operations, Engineering, Sales and directly with customers as required.
· Provide reports and make presentations as required to management and customers.
Job Requirements:
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working in a technology company, preferably in or using optics, highly desirable
· Electronics background highly desirable
· optics background desirable
· Experience with metrology equipment, preferably in or using optics, highly desirable
· Proficiency in MS Excel required; familiarity with Visual Basic desirable
· Some experience with data analysis highly desirable
· Expertise in troubleshooting solving complex problems highly desirable
· Good written and verbal communication skills required
