Job Description :
As a Technical Writer, you will carry these responsibilities:
With the support of your manager, manage release doc projects for various product releases based on release priority and customer demand.
With the support of your manager, coordinate rollout schedules with the TW Managers and software division Product Managers, as necessary, to deliver quality documentation in specified timeframes.
With the support of your manager, develop workload plans, project plans, and related rollout schedules to account for and prioritize work.
Support release technical writing tasks: such as updates, enhancements, corrections, new features.
With the support of your manager or a Technical Writer, install and test development software to update release documentation.
Independently plan your time, communicate project status, multi-task.
Support the creation of indexes and glossaries; learn how to create these for select release titles assigned to you.
Independently learn the company’s software products in order to support the delivery of quality, timely release documentation products.
Communicate contingencies in a timely manner and offer solutions to the problems that you encounter.
Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude in all areas of your work.
Independently learn department tools, processes, and strategies for delivering quality release documentation products.

The ideal candidate possesses:
A Bachelors Degree in Technical Writing (or a related field, such as Professional or Technical Communications
Working knowledge of: Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Word for documentation management), FrameMaker, XML/DITA, or a content management system editor for creating technical documents.
1-3 years technical writing experience in a software development setting or related field.
Working knowledge of a typical software development projects’ workflow, such as Agile, the techniques used to manage development software content updates, and software development technical writing best practices.
Ability to learn the software products associated with assigned projects (from install to daily test to delivery of content for production-quality software
Excellent technical writing skills (i.e. clear/concise writing, editing, content design
Excellent communication skills (i.e., written, spoken
Ability to work fulltime/onsite, work set hours consistently, work productively, and maintain a professional attitude in all aspects of your performance.
