Job Description :
Role: Technical Writer
Location: Irvine, CA
Duration: Contract

Key Functions of the role include the following:
Create product documentation for end users and system administrators
Author in a variety of environments, primarily DITA/XML
Research, write, and ensure the accuracy of content that covers current and future releases of our product
Analyze current product documentation to determine usability and make improvements as indicated
Continuously improve documentation by responding to and incorporating feedback from customers and internal users
Collaborate with other information developers to produce and share content for different types of deliverables (blogs, product documentation, knowledge base, video)

Required Skills/Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in technical writing for the Hi-Tech Domain
Knowledge of Flash storage Industry solutions - Flash Drives, Embedded storage, High performance storage solutions etc.
Experience creating Technical and Marketing collaterals including Datasheets, Product Specification documents, White papers, Case studies, Blogs, News Releases, Analyst Reports etc.
Create collaterals based on input from the client’s subject matter experts
Review & correct basic English for all of the client’s internal and external documents, review articles, blogs, etc.
Expertise with Framemaker, Webworks Publisher, Acrobat
Fully conversant with PC Desktop tools
Self-starter, able to multi-task, seek out information on assigned tasks in a fast-paced collaborative team environment with a passion to deliver high quality documentation

Desired Skills/Experience:
Proven experience making technical content accessible to audiences with mixed levels of expertise
Ability to learn highly technical products quickly, using pre-release product/software internal documentation
Understanding of source control systems and maintaining multiple versions of content
Familiarity with working in Scrum/Agile development environments
Ability to obtain information through research, interviews, and experimentation
Ability to work with geographically distributed team members and developers
Motivation and ability to be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Self-direction, flexibility, and an eagerness to learn
Working knowledge of DITA and topic-based writing
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, English, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
Experience as an technical Instructor, Field Service Engineer or Product Support Engineer is a plus
