Due to internal promotion, PCMS has a Technical Support Consultant Position opening. This consultant will diagnose hardware and software issues to meet our clients’ technology needs, while gaining international experience with premier retailers and food service companies.
Triages, reproduces, and diagnoses hardware and software issues raised by PCMS customers within the Vision Beanstore portfolio, seeking to identify root cause wherever possible.
Examines error logs and inspects database content to determine the cause of a problem or an explanation based on an investigation.
Documents steps to reproduce, research, and conclusions for use by internal and external technical resources ie: developers, partners, suppliers, etc.
Develops and documents workaround solutions where appropriate. Implements workarounds with PCMS Service Desk counterparts or relevant project teams.
Provides feedback for improvements to the development process and product roadmap when appropriate.
Liaises with 3rd Party suppliers and Partners.
Performs additional value add services over and above support agreements.

Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field
1 year of professional experience or an Associate’s degree in an IT related field
3+ years’ of professional experience.
Requires excellent problem solving & analytical skills.
Requires strong proficiency in modern RDBMS implementations (DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle), SQL, TCP/IP Networking, navigating and troubleshooting in Windows and Linux physical and virtual environments.
Requires proficiency in BASH scripting, Windows Batch Files, FTP/SFTP, SSH Clients (PuTTy), XML, HTML. Also requires proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting Java stack traces
Requires familiarity with Java development, Java source code, network topology, software architecture, and the retail industry.
Knowledge of PCMS products and services or the ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of PCMS products and services.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Advanced computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office programs.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
flexibility to travel (up to 25%) and to work at customer sites, when required.
Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport.
