Technical Product Manager

Location: Santa Clara CA

Duration: 6 + months consulting and or contract hire

Your role is to imagine, design, build and launch products that profoundly impact the outcomes of students through the arc of their learning and career experiences.

Chegg is already a leader in physical and digital learning services. Now Chegg is changing how students approach and select colleges, succeed while at college, and start successful careers. We plan to do this through a radical transparency using data science, by building products that deeply engage students in discovering options available to them, creating tools for them to make the right decisions. We are also expanding this ecosystem to education institutions, skills providers, and employers. This is a broad and audacious program in scope and had the potential to profoundly change the outcomes for students.

Role: Product Leader, Outcomes

Chegg is seeking a product leader based in our Santa Clara office to own various components of this vision. In this role, you will be responsible for creating the foundational experiences for students and employers, allowing students to find meaningful jobs and career paths and employers to find employers to find skilled students to fill their open roles.

As a product leader, you will be responsible for the management of the product development lifecycle, working with cross-functional stakeholders to produce opportunity-driven roadmaps, and interfacing with engineering, UX, data science, and release teams to execute the product vision.

You must love the education and careers space, have deep empathy and understanding of students, and appreciate the business of recruiting. You must enjoy problem-solving both independently and in team settings, and have deep product management experience. Additionally, you must be highly motivated and be a thought leader, advocate, and inspiration for the experiences you are building. This is a white space area, so you must be both a problem solver and a problem seeker. Most importantly, you must be hands-on with incredible organizational maturity and be able to work in an environment that operates independently and with lots of ambiguity.

Understand the career discovery and selection experience for students and help them with that journey.

Understand how employers evaluate and elect candidates, especially those early in their careers.
