Job Description :
Position Title: Technical Platform Support lead
Location: Chicago, IL

We are looking for a senior technical platform support lead with a strong background in Hadoop, AWS, and infrastructure operations. The individual would support Big Data cloud Infrastructure. The role requires experience in Hadoop, AWS EMR (and other similar services), DevOps automation tools, large applications, ETL style data processing, job scheduling tools, and data visualization applications.

Must Haves:
Linux: 5+ years in Unix systems engineering with experience in Red Hat Linux, Centos or Ubuntu.
Hadoop: 3+ years with Hadoop development or administration (HDFS, Kafka, Hive, Hbase, Zookeeper, MR, Tez, Pig, Spark and Yarn
AWS: 2+ years working experience including VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Kinesis, CloudWatch, Security groups, EBS, EMR, ELB, Redshift.
Infrastructure Operations: 3+ years supporting systems infrastructure operations, upgrades, deployments, and responding to production incidents.
DevOps: Experience with DevOps automation - Orchestration/Configuration Management and CI/CD tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, Jenkins, Troposphere
Monitoring & Workflow: Experience with monitoring tools such as ServiceNow, AWS CloudWatch, Signal Fx, Nagios, New Relic, Splunk.
Networking: Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, SMTP, HTTP, load-balancers (ELB, HAProxy) and high availability architecture.

Job Responsibilities:
Cluster Management including Hadoop cluster resiliency, HA (Hadoop and xDBC), and multiregional datacenters (DR, DC etc
Cluster installation, configuration, upgrade and patch-fix
Cluster monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and reporting to senior management
Ability to manage shift/lead co-ordination, SME and single point of contact for platform issue resolution and triage
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills when working on the phone, email, or instant
