Complete Description:
Technical project management and technical analysis for maintenance upgrades including Windows 2003, Oracle 10G, .Net and SQL 2005.
Will be responsible for overall project management for technical upgrade projects including holding technical discovery sessions, documenting technical requirements with architects and developers. Also, working with architecture and application team managers to coordinate upgrade schedules with project and business schedules, etc
Strong technical project management skills, including managing matrixed resources.
Strong business and technical analytical skills, attention to detail and logical thinking.
Ability to run technical and project meetings and translate into work planning and project schedules.
Ability to decompose upgrade requirements into project plans for upgrade work and testing purposes.
Clear and concise documentation skills
Experience working with diversified stakeholders and understanding the project needs
Excellent presentation, communication and customer service skills while maintaining a professional manner.
Self motivated team player – able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines when required.
Effectively manage and solve complex business problems
Remain flexible on changing workloads and priorities
Ability to document process flows
Aptitude for learning new technologies/applications/businesses
Preferred Skills/Competencies:
Experience/knowledge with SharePoint is a plus but not expected.
High level knowledge of programming practices
Familiarity with relational database concepts and SQL
PMP or COVA PM Certification. Other PM certifications or degrees considered.
Experience:
10+ years Technical PM experience (systems analyst and/or architecture analyst experience a plus)
Extensive experience with MS Project and creating project plans.
Experience with testing scripts and system testing a plus
Experience with architecture reviews a plus
Experience with application development projects a plus
Public Sector or Northrop Grumman (NG) background/experience a plus
Experience with technical upgrade projects involving window &/or unix servers
Experience with SQL and Oracle databases upgrades a plus.
