Position : Technical Business Analyst with SAS + LifeScience Domain Exp.
Location : New York City, NY
Duration : 6+ months Contract

Job Description:

You are familiar with the regulatory approval process for new drugs and medical devices. Not just from a Phase I - Phase IV perspective, but also from a data submission perspective.
You understand CDISC data formats and the processes undertaken by the Life Sciences industry today to capture data and transform it from CDASH into SDTM, ADaM, and TFLs.
You also understand the broader healthcare market and are knowledgeable of the industry trends that must be accounted for when defining Medidata’s data strategy
You understand how EDC systems such as Rave function (i.e., knowledgeable of the following terms: edit checks, forms / folders, queries, review groups, marking groups, core configurations, pre-conditions, etc.
Bonus points if you also have expertise working with EHR data standards such as FHIR, HL7, etc. to conduct interoperability / integration efforts in the healthcare arena.

What will you do:
Document business and functional requirements to cater towards short term and long term management reporting, dashboards and analytical needs of the business
Performing data analysis and design activities at the operational and organizational level to build a central repository
Develop reporting proto-types and use cases to capture and document requirements
Actively identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that help drive customer experience and product improvements.
Lead functional design of projects that anticipate and proactively address roadblocks and obstacles.
Engage and direct business partners and subject matter experts to identify priorities, scope, and requirements for complex business problems
Engage technical development team members to transition requirements to design,and to determine appropriate design approach
Plan and execute QA and UAT testing
Act as the Business and Data analyst that liaisons between business units and the execution team

Who you are:
Has an understanding of software development process (SDLC) from design, requirements gathering, analysis, deployment, testing methodologies, training, change management and production support. Knowledge of Agile methodology is a plus.
Comfortable distilling technical designs into individual stories in a backlog in priority order based on the business need and technical dependencies. Likewise able to write well organized stories with clearly articulated acceptance criteria.
Must possess project management skillset to facilitate and manage meetings, project plans, status reports, risk analysis, budgets, testing, resource management and task assignments.
An understanding of business and operational processes with the ability to translate business needs into concise requirements.
Strong customer service skills, organizational management and exceptional communication skills.
Ability to maintain a business perspective in the establishment of project priorities.
Ability to communicate (Oral/Written) effectively and coordinate action across all levels of the organization.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Adept at developing technical processes (e.g., data governance) and technical documentation (for internal and external consumers)
