Job Description:
The Senior Tax Manager, Tax Planning & Forecasting, will have overall responsibility for the tax forecasting and projection process. Tax forecasts are used across the organization for multi-year plans, operating budgets, cash management and other financial and external reporting purposes. This highly visible position will work closely with Tax Department leadership and act as a liaison between the tax department and Corporate FP&A, and other members of our US Life and Mortgage Insurance businesses to ensure the production of timely and accurate forecasted results.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate and manage the overall tax forecasting process, including cash management, operating budget and multi-year planning
Work closely with Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and members of US Life and Mortgage Insurance businesses to ensure consistency across all platforms in the forecasting process
Manage and communicate multiple forecasting scenarios based on business needs and requests from senior leadership
Work closely with Strategic Tax Planning group to monitor legislative and regulatory developments, as well as company initiatives and incorporate into forecasting process
Work closely with Tax Controllership on tax projections and their impact on financial reporting (e.g., valuation of deferred tax assets)
Lead, manage and develop tax staff, with effective delegation, review and oversight to ensure business and compliance deadlines are achieved. (Client Tax is committed to being a developer of outstanding tax professionals
Partner and influence other leaders within Client Tax to build and maintain an effective tax infrastructure

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Accounting, finance or related field
At least 6-8 years of experience in insurance tax accounting, compliance and reporting
Strong technical background in US corporate tax law, and understanding of the recently enacted Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
Understanding of complex issues in corporate tax and impact on accounting standards
Demonstrated ability to solve complex tax issues
Proven ability to mentor, coach and develop tax professionals
Proven ability to communicate across all levels within the organization (both verbal and written)
Proven ability to analyze and communicate technical areas of tax law through research and writing
Strong analytical skills, detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and complete projects in a timely manner

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPA, MBA or Masters in Tax with accounting experience (or equivalent)
Public Accounting experience
Experience with process improvement, change management and optimization of various tax processes
Experience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision (OTP) and ONESOURCE Income Tax Software
Broad knowledge of individual US life, health insurance and mortgage insurance products
Exposure to complex legal entity tax sharing agreements
Ability to meet deliverables independently and as a team player within time constraints
Exhibit flexibility, creativity and initiative in providing solutions
