Oroville, CA. They will be onsite potentially up to 2 times per week with the rest of the rest of the work done remotely
Tasks include:
Build and secure networks and data centers (on-site and cloud based) for the California Community Colleges Technology Center, the California Virtual Campus and its affiliated initiatives.
Deploy physical and virtual servers (mostly linux and windows) using vmWare, Rackspace, AWS, OpenStack, Docker, Salt and other continuous integration, change management and data center administration frameworks.
Install wired and wireless networking, access points, switches, routers, firewalls, fiber channel backhaul and network based security appliances.
Deploy servers to host web applications and databases, DNS, e-mail, file and print, mail and mailing list, audio and video, security and penetration testing utilities.
Assist with best practice configurations of open source and proprietary CMS and LMS, portals, virtual classrooms and e-learning software.
Serve as the technical lead for state-wide initiatives that involve large scale application and server deployments. Assist 112 colleges with network, server and security configurations for shared environments, including; single sign on, portals, college applications, electronic transcripts, e-portfolios, etc.
Recent focus includes computer forensic examination, security audits, security best practice policies and procedures, PCI compliance, ISO 270001 compliance and end user security training.
