JOB SUMMARY
The Systems Engineer IV serves as technical lead and provides technical direction to teams including engineers and technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and technical consultants.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for program technical execution
Serve as primary technical interface with customer
Assist Program Manager with developing solutions and proposals and assessing performance
Implement engineering processes and practices at the program level, including translating company standard processes and contract requirements to System Engineering Management Plans (SEMP)
Elicit and assimilate customer needs; translate needs to requirements specifications
Performs and oversees system functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into system hardware and software specifications
Evaluates project level designs, assuring project specific requirements are in compliance with System requirements and interface definitions
Evaluates product configuration item integration plans and approach, assuring the integrated product meets system requirements
Integrates engineering specialty disciplines in a manner that assures that the system meets its “Ility” requirements
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Develops System characteristic models, simulations, and analyses that quantify system capabilities and improvement opportunities
Provides continuous assessment of System capabilities and deficiencies and develops product improvement proposals for Program, Organizational, and Functional Management review.
Provides management and technical oversight of program technical activities
Develops and manages System budgets, including, power, weight, reliability, error, etc.
Constructively mentors and provides professional development assistance for other Systems Engineers in the areas of system engineering tool usage, methods, and processes
Provides weekly and monthly progress reporting to Program Management team
Conducts quarterly review & update of Program System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and other System design documentation

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

EXPERIENCE
At least fourteen years of pertinent experience
Experience with rugged, industrial design to meet military specifications and standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461/464, MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-882, etc.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
Proven ability to establish and lead small, highly technical teams
Working knowledge of the DOORS database tool
Working knowledge of the Microsoft tools suite, including Word, Excel, Project, Power Point
Working knowledge of Trade Study methods and tools, system modeling and simulation techniques, system budgeting, system life cycle analysis, and design of experiments
Working knowledge of chemical, biological, and explosives detection capabilities
Working knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and procedures
Must act with highest level of ethics and integrity
Contributes to the development of new technical concepts and their application
Working knowledge of System Failure Mode and Effects and Fault Tree Analysis techniques
Working knowledge of Risk Analysis and Mitigation techniques
Viewed as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in field within the company
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations

Must have the ability to obtain and/or maintain DoD clearance
