Summary:
Client is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform a wide variety of installation, configuration and upgrading of servers and related hardware and software in a LAN, WAN and stand-alone environment, providing investigation, diagnostic testing and repair/resolution of system, hardware, software and infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:
· Complete configuration, installation and support of equipment to the specifications of the business.
· Maintain software applications and operating systems through regular maintenance.
· Maintain configuration and support documentation.
· Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
· Supervise the administration of systems and servers to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
· Maintain multi-site network operations, software applications, operating systems through regular maintenance.
· Troubleshoot malfunctions of hardware, software applications and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
· 5-7 years’ experience required.
· Broad knowledge of IT Systems engineering.
· Experience with system capacity and planning, as well as functional configuration and audit.
· Experience with system planning and capacity tools and analyses.
Additional Job Details:
This is an application support position. This includes all areas of the Item Processing workflow from item capture through other processes and systems as required to support the business units. Understanding of check processing in a commercial banking environment is helpful. This position provides Production Support of multiple critical applications, performing application maintenance, upgrades, and development work. Development tasks may include researching and writing technical specifications including problem definition according to IT Development Standards. Codes, tests, debugs documents, and maintain programs. Designs systems and writes user procedures. May manage projects with multiple cross-impact areas.
1. Provides application support for Item Processing type applications, revising, updating and providing documentation as required.
2. Leads, executes or participates in parallel, pilot and other system test phases prior to implementation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. May be responsible for managing small to medium projects.
4. May be responsible for developing project plans and other project documentation.
5. Provides technical assistance to staff including interpretation of specifications.
6. Researches new developments in hardware and software. Maintains currency in techniques and tools enabling system proficiencies and performance improvements.
7. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Troubleshooting of application, network, and server based issues.
Requires thorough understanding of application systems and architectures.

Create and maintain batch files.
Knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems including Server 2008 R2 and 2012.
Has knowledge of Item Processing systems, and has specific knowledge of FIS branded applications such as Vision IP and Direct Suite.
Thorough understanding of systems environments including one or more of the following: hardware, software and networking environments, files/databases, programming languages, program design and systems development, batch and online programs, installation procedures, IIS, and virtualization.
