Position Description:
ITI/RRS Next Generation Hosting Data Protection Engineer. This backup engineering position will build, test and provide level 3 support for new and upgraded highly available data protection solutions for Ford servers and clients.
Skills Required:
Experience with research, design, engineering and testing of backup and recovery solutions - Experience of engineering and/or administration of NAS - Experience of writing technical documentation eg test matrix, runbook - Linux (SUSE), Windows Server, and VMware experience
Experience Preferred:
Administration of a data protection solution using Storage or VMWare snaps - VMWare administration experience - Version Control Systems GitHub and Git - Experience with NetApp storage solutions and Object Storage technologies - Understanding of APIs and ability code APIs for consumption - Catalogic ECX experience - IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) Administration expertise - Must have excellent communication skills - Must be a self-starter, capable of working independently and within a team with minimum supervision
Education Required:
B.S. Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent work experience in the requested field.
