The Positive Train Control (PTC) Systems Engineer is responsible for testing, implementing, documenting and supporting rail and Train Control Systems including supporting transportation systems that allows for remote control of trackside power switches and signals to control train movement. Analyzes situations to develop the PTC back office systems as well as support the operation of and continuous improvement of Train Control Systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Testing, implementing, and documenting an ongoing support of the Train Management Dispatch System (TMDS) used by the railway in our rail traffic control center(s);
Developing and executing testing strategies, test plans, and test procedures to validate that the system correctly implements the specifications;
Preparing schedules for specified projects;
Acting as a technical resource in the area of Train Control Systems;
Interfacing with rail traffic controllers, field and Signals & Communications (S&C) personnel, as well as transportation officers.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT
BS in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or Technical Diploma with equivalent experience
Experience working with high availability systems
Experience with the Train Management Dispatch System (TMDS), a strong asset
Experience relevant with Signals & Communications rail industry experience (specifically PTC Wayside), an asset
Experience within transportation industry, an asset
SQL diagnostics, queries and reports, an asset
