The IT System Engineer will be part of the Infrastructure & Operations team to support IT-Unix team''s day-to-day operations such as Linux administration , IBM Websphere , Apache web server and tomcat administration , application deployment and troubleshooting
Summary of Position:
Ability to work independently and in a team environment to understand business requirements, design technical solutions and implement applications. As a seasoned technical resource, this role is sought out for the medium complexity and moderate risk projects that align with the skill set.
Expected Education Level: Bachelors of Science or equivalent work experience
Minimum Experience: Greater than 5 years
Business Knowledge Complexity: Medium
Expected Deliverables: Analysis, Automate, System Administration, Technical documentation, Troubleshooting and Issue resolution
Technology: Must have: Oracle VM, Oracle Linux, Redhat Linux and Oracle Solaris operating systems administration, Expertise in Oracle Weblogic server and IBM WebSphere, Apache tomcat and Apache http (web) server administration, troubleshooting and application deployment
Knowledge in DevOps tools set such as Ansible/Jenkins. Ability to write Ansible modules to call REST APIs.
Leadership Expectation: Low
Industry Certifications: Preferred Redhat certified Linux Administrator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzes and understands technical requirements. Is dependent on subject matter experts for key business knowledge. Is not expected to have a high degree of interaction with business users.
Works closely with other team members and external resources in the development and support of applications. Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and highly technical resources.
Creates technical documentation.
Performs system administration functions that include installation, configuration, monitoring, automation, JVM tuning and code deployments.
Performance tunings of JVM using Appdynamics or other jvm monitoring tools
Provides on-call production support, troubleshoot and triage issues in Non-Production and Production environment.
