Job Description :

Position: System Engineer-Kafka SRE

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Duration: Long term project

Visa: H1B, GC, TN & USC

Request Summary:

We are looking for a Linux SRE who has experience designing and supporting Kafka clusters.

Required:

Work closely with architects and engineers to build the right Kafka infrastructure that meets performance, availability and security requirements.
Conduct performance and failover testing to measure and improve the platform KPIs.
Define process for Kafka cluster setups, platform upgrades and patching projects.
Ability to operate independently
Familiarity with the setup of the open source tools for Kafka monitoring and management ex: Burrow, Kafka-manager
Tackle kafka performance issues. Debug server-side performance issues, identify bottlenecks and optimize performance of the kafka cluster and the client applications

Very nice to have:

Strong Java programming skills and experience with writing Kafka Consumers and Producers
Experience with Kafka stream processing
Docker containers and orchestration
Experiences in one of scripting languages (bash, perl, python.
