System Engineer
Location: Irving, TX
Duration: 12 months
Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills)
More than 5 years of experience on related IT fields within the Telecommunication industry
Advance IP networking knowledge including IP addressing, routing, VPNs, Firewalls etc
Advance corporate IT OS knowledge (Windows Server , Linux, Solaris, OpenView) for system administration and virtualization
Strong knowledge and experience around the fault management/Service assurance space with commercial product (Netcool Omnibus/impact, HP TeMIP, NetExpert, BMC Remedy etc)
Practical knowledge setting up and troubleshooting integration technologies (XML, JAVA, SOAP, CORBA, SNMP etc) for event management
Good understanding of telecommunications technologies and architectures (Mobile Access, Core voice switching, transport, IP/MPLS, VAS and OSS/BSS platforms)
Good understanding of DB query and information extraction (CMDB, SQL scripting etc)
Key Responsibilities / Functions:
Verifies and validates inter-operation of products / subsystems from multiple vendors: develops test strategy, designs test case, executes test plans, writes fault reports on the basis of trouble shooting and reports results into the project.
Integrates the solution (blueprint or customer specific) into the network and IT systems in line with the specifications : provides the network and IT elements with IP addresses, routing protocols, signaling parameters, QoS, etc. Performs solution integration tests and maintains the integration and the consistency of the solution over the whole project cycle. For this IP develops test strategy, designs test case, executes test plans, writes fault reports on the basis of trouble shooting and reports results into the project
Validates the Solution within customer''s environment (including end user services, management, to ensure that all customer requirements, as defined in the contract are covered. Ensures the solution performs as designed by validation /testing the functionality and by giving the base for a final acceptance by the customer.
Provides initial analysis for the defects, tracks these defects and verifies their resolution in Solution environment
Performs the technical migration of the Solution: prepares all the configuration required by the migration process, executes the procedures of migration, adjusts the new system into the old technical environment, manages the roll back when it is required.
Maintains high level of customer satisfaction by assessing compliance to customer requirements in design and test results.
Provides inputs to all required project documentation on test objective, test plan and test results, including integration strategy and environment specifications. Applies detailed design methodologies, best practices and processes to ensure deliverables quality
