Primary Responsibilities/Key Duties
Build, configure, and administer Windows Server Operating Systems on physical and virtual hardware located in multiple countries
Resolve assigned user incidents either from support or escalated from level I support.
Identify and troubleshoot system related issues and communicate them to system technicians.
Monitor the performance and maintain the stability of the Windows Server platform
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on Windows Servers
Perform backup and restore administration tasks
Participate in Disaster Recovery activities
Administer Active Directory objects and User account lifecycle management
Ability to engage and work with software and hardware vendors on remediating identified defects
Participate in an on-call rotation
Required Knowledge/Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related.
Certifications related to Windows Server Operating Systems, networking and software preferred.
Ability to effectively learn new technologies and successfully maintain them
Solid troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
Intermediate knowledge and troubleshooting experience on server hardware (HP preferred)
1+ years of experience installing, administering and troubleshooting Windows Server products in an Enterprise class environment
1+ years of experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, WINS, and DHCP environments
1+ years of experience with administering multiple VMware, View/Horizon, SRM and vSphere environments
1+ years of experience administering Microsoft Exchange (2007/2010 preferred)
1+ years of experience administering Microsoft ISA, IIS and FTP environments
Operational knowledge of Symantec Enterprise Vault, Microsoft OCS/Lync, Microsoft SCCM/SCOM, and Commvault preferred
Operational knowledge of storage technologies as related to VMware, Exchange and file systems
Hands-on knowledge and understanding of hardware configuration and troubleshooting. Ability to resolve problems such as file system capacity, consistency and integrity of file systems, understand and take action on hardware related problems such as CPU, RAM, and disk failures.
Assist with managing and implementing hardware and software migration and upgrade efforts of varying size and complexity
Ability to test, implement and document multiple project tasks within aggressive timeframes
Demonstrate the ability to present areas of expertise to team members with guidance from lead/manager
Demonstrate the willingness and ability to improve performance and/or capabilities across all areas of responsibility utilizing formal and informal training to maintain skill sets
Consistently demonstrate solid verbal and written communication skills
