Job Description:
High level work involving management, support, and enhancement of PDE’s mission-critical network of 70 virtual servers and over 600 network-attached devices. Plans and supports server and network hardware and software upgrades and environment transitions
Leads or serves on project teams involving network, servers, and hardware device infrastructure, mobile device connectivity, and network security. Works with a high degree of independence.
Serves on teams responsible for planning and implementation of major network initiatives, including virtual server environment upgrade, agency-wide rollout of new network-attached PC and mobile hardware and software, including image development and testing of new emerging standard softwares MS Windows 10, MS Office 365, MS Office 2016, MS Direct Access, Bitlocker, etc.
Researches server and network issues to find most compatible best-practice solution, and develops or supports development of project and task plans to accomplish them.
Develops and tests software images for new hardware deployments that ensure best performance of network and server connectivity.
Monitor virtual server environment and data networks using VMWare tools and network monitoring tools. Responds to any detected issues, using existing protocols as well as researching for possible solutions. Notifies appropriate IT staff of issues and status of solution.
