Job Description:
Successful candidate should be capable of installing and maintaining Linux OS and Java middleware in a virtualized environment. The candidate should have experience with designing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex environments with interfaces to other applications.
* Experience should include the design and implementation of complex Linux- and Java-based environments along with the accompany load balancers, firewalls, schema validation and database servers.
* Successful candidate should be able to automate repeatable processes, such as installing, upgrading and configuring key middleware applications. Provide hands on expertise and a point of escalation for IT teams in the following technologies: IP networking, F5 Load Balancing, Firewalls, IP Tables, VMware, Puppet Enterprise RedHat Enterprise Linux 6.x,. , Redhat JBoss EAP / Fuse Network. Will participate in 24/7 monitoring and triaging operations.
Responsibilities
Work with Performance engineering and Development Teams to optimize RHEL-based infrastructure, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA
Recommend, design and deploy performance monitoring tools and tune the environment accordingly.
Meet or exceed project SLAs on availability and system capacity.
Participate in Configuration Management.
Have experience with automation and basic DevOps.
Plan, execute and document infrastructure software / hardware updates.
Participate in Change Management control of project assets.
Support project planning and tracking. Work with upper management in the development and maintenance of project plans.
Maintain current documentation of architecture, interfaces, processes and procedure, and server inventory.
Required Skills:
5+ years building, maintaining and operating Linux Servers.
3+ years middleware supporting JVM, preferably Redhat products
3+ years RHEL
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong IP Networking fundamentals
Strong configuration management background. Experience should demonstrate adherence to SDLC and configuration management best practices.
Experience demonstrating ability to accurately and thoroughly document design, procedures, manuals
Drive for developing leadership skills and inclination to mentor and share knowledge with team members.
