Job Description :
The role of the Symantec Endpoint Principal Solutions Specialist (“SEP Principal” or “Principal”) involves a mixture of many skills, from solutions design and delivery, to trusted client advisor.

The SEP Principal will have 4 - 6 years demonstrated experience implementing technical consulting engagements including strategy development, solution design, IT, security, business process assessments and organizational design.

This position completes the technical aspects of a proposed business solution within the client’s environment and often works with a Project Manager on for-fee product implementation, enhancement, and integration projects. An Architect delivers solutions based consulting offerings; consequently, expertise and work efforts will focus around the implementation and operational integration of products and services to ensure that customers address both business and technical requirements.

A SEP Principal will work with an extended on- and off-site team to develop and maintain the endpoint security infrastructure, desktop anti-virus and desktop firewall implementations for enterprise and large enterprise clients.
Proficient on the architecture, design and deployment of the SEP solution
Leads assessment, design and technical implementation activities on the SEP product platform
Documents solution requirements given business and technical objectives
Designs pilot and production architecture given success criteria
Defines and creates SEP client security policy
Builds deployment packages
Executes pilot against success criteria/test plan
Completes production deployment
Advises client on application of endpoint packages deployment, including but not limited the following available technologies:
o Native SEP
o SMS
o Altiris
Leads root cause analysis and troubleshooting effort for production deployment
Functions as a liaison between the client and Symantec
Development and Support groups
Reports issues, anomalies and problems through proper channels (i.e., account management, technical support)
Provides incident status reports as required
Documents all recommendations to management they can be routed to the responsible department
Achieves Key Performance Indicators
Perform other duties relevant to deployment and security operations as assigned
