Job Description :
Immediate opportunity for a Support Engineer with experience solving complex technical problems related to hyperconverged infrastructure and software-defined networking. This position is part of an Operations team that focuses on maintaining services and integrations for one of our largest clients. The role includes systems administration of multiple Cisco HyperFlex HX data clusters, VMware virtualized environments, our proprietary product set as well as integrations into 3rd party applications. Candidates should be passionate about software development, and interested in working with cutting edge technologies such as SDWAN and NFV. This role requires direct interface with our clients via phone, web, or on site.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Provides consulting expertise to clients in the areas of network and infrastructure optimization
Responsible for ensuring is onsite Company Product Champion: Coach & mentor on Company products and utilities
Works on-site in customer environments in collaboration with non- Company personnel
Provides guidance and assistance in installation & configuration of Company technology
Develops advance solutions and integrations with third party technologies
Provides support in the development of integration test cases and guidance in the execution of the tests
Provides assistance in developing configurations appropriate to supporting products including devices and/or EMS’s
Accurately captures and defines project requirements and relaying these to Company Product Management
Interacts closely with Company Product Management and Development to ensure that deliverables are delivered in a timely and aligned fashion with the Company roadmap
Monitors and tunes the system software to achieve optimum performance levels, efficiency and reliability
Diagnoses and resolves system software problems
Develops and maintains a comprehensive system software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
Develops and maintains run-books for all support purposes.
Monitors and ensures compliance with all appropriate IT standards (e.g. Security, Architecture, Project Delivery Methodology, SOX, etc
Responsible for ensuring that assigned projects are developed to the plan and timescales agreed. In addition, responsible for regular communication regarding progress as well as for proactively identifying and communicating any issue that arise through the project.
Provides guidance and assistance to other Engineers
Qualification Requirements:
Education: Bachelor''s degree in computer related subject or able to demonstrate equivalent work experience
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have solid scripting skills in either PHP, Python, or Go as well as current or recent experience administering Linux server environments (including troubleshooting best practices Significant experience with automation and system configuration management tools with an emphasis on GitLab is preferred. In addition to this:
5 years networking & internet work experience as operator, engineer or tools integrator
Advanced knowledge of SOAP, Rest API, XML
Extensive consulting experience in a network or infrastructure environment
Experience with database architecture, API design, queuing Virtualization and container expertise using Docker, VMware
RDBMS (preferably MySQL) experience is highly desired
Extensive experience administering and integrating network management systems is highly desired.
Extensive experience of full software development lifecycle (from analysis through development, test, delivery, in-service, disposal) is desirable
Extensive Linux and Unix, including shell, experience required
Scripting experience required in at least one of PHP, Perl, JavaScript, Python
Skills:
