Job Description :
JOB SUMMARY
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for working with primary supplier base to continuously improve quality, delivery, and overall supplier performance on key components used in military and commercial products. Develop secondary and tertiary sources for key components. Develop, implement, and sustain supplier quality metrics. The selected candidate will be the primary supplier interface for all program and product quality matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead program quality representative for supplier base
Responsible for reviewing technical documentation (models, bills of material, drawings, test plans, test reports) to ensure compliance to customer requirements
Responsible for evaluating technical documentation and developing key quality inspection features
Responsible for developing program quality plans and supplier quality requirements
Responsible for a program Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) and root cause analysis in product development, manufacturing and supplier environments
Lead Failure Review Board (FRB) representative for all products
Candidate must be comfortable communicating with and presenting to customers, suppliers and company business leadership
Leadership of activities associated with the defined quality process and/or Program requirements
Responsible for leading suppliers to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to reduce product variation and prevent defects and/or non-compliance within our processes
Supports integrated product/process teams and collaborates with engineering, MRP, purchasing, contracts management, program managers, customers, and business leadership
Special projects and other duties as assigned

EDUCATION
BS degree in Engineering or other closely related technical field or equivalent industry experience
Experience working with suppliers of raw materials (Metal and Plastics), electronics, and component hardware desired
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred

EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in the following areas required: Supplier Quality, Statistical techniques; Lean manufacturing; Six Sigma; failure analysis; and corrective action
Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 or equivalent quality management system
Experience with OHSAS 18001 and ISO14001
Experience with government military contracts preferred
Experience with Excel and Minitab Database development preferred

ADDITIONAL SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
Must have ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD security clearance
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Proficient with all MSOffice products, specifically Access and Excel
Experience writing manufacturing instructions, quality assurance plans, and procedures
Ability to perform data and trend analysis
Must possess analytical skills
Conflict resolution and problem solving
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to present data to customers, suppliers, peers and upper management
Excellent interpersonal skills
Organization and time management
Self-motivated
Must possess a high level of ethics and integrity
Use of quality improvement tools
Use of Lean Six Sigma/continuous improvement tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Use of computer at work desk
