Job Description :
We’re looking for a Storage/Virtualization Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join an awesome team in Fort Myers, FL.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our clients VMware environment. You will be developing, managing, supporting, and providing technical leadership/guidance for the virtualization technology stack. This is a great opportunity for someone that has a strong technical background and enjoys working with an incredibly smart technology team.

This position can be based in Fort Myers, Tampa, or Houston.

As Storage/Virtualization Engineer, you will:

Serves as a Storage/Virtualization lead

Specialize in VMware software defined datacenter (SDDC) solutions

Design, implement & maintain VMware vSphere/vRealize Automation environments

Analyze system requirements in response to customer requirements, risks, and costs

Craft, update, and follow SOPs and other documentation

ex. Change & configuration management

Translate complex technical requirements into actionable & balanced tasks

Handle VMWare license compliance & support contracts

Forecast/plan datacenter needs


Provide strategic direction

Document findings, create standard procedures and update knowledge base

Identify and evaluate new tools

Access to and/or work with sensitive and/or confidential information.

Suggest enhancements to existing configurations, technologies/procedures

Provide daily monitoring of storage and virtualization devices

Ensure storage/virtualization devices are optimally tuned and within normal operating ranges

Take proactive measures to mitigate out or range threshold

Work closely with IT functional areas to design and implement operational requirements for new and existing
technology systems

Manage Hardware and Software Lifecycle

Provide Infrastructure support

Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews

Provide critical thinking to complex problems in a 24/7, mission critical network environment

Process, monitor and prioritize tickets

Assist in hardware/software purchases

Comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual

Own problem remediation including analysis, recommendation, and implementation

Exhibit an understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance

Be on-call and provide evening or weekend coverage as needed

Work well & Collaborate with other teams for a variety of company initiatives

Work under general direction

Travel to remote offices

Job Requirements for Storage/Virtualization Engineer:

5+ years of experience supporting and managing a geographically dispersed IT infrastructure

5+ years of virtualization experience managing large scale Storage, VMware environments

Strong technical background in enterprise-class storage, virtualization, hyper-converged, and server technologies

Deployment experience: vCenter and vSphere Hypervisors

Knowledge of the OSI layers 1-4 and associated equipment

Desired Areas:

Storage area network switching (SAN)

Storage tiering concepts, and the associated storage platforms

SAN protocols

Storage and data replication

Storage health/performance monitoring and reporting tools

Disaster recovery solutions that leveraging the server and storage environment

Storage provisioning practices

Hyperconverged infrastructure

Multi-tiered architecture

Strong quantitative, analytical and conceptual thinking skills

Cisco UCS B series and C series, Dell PowerEdge series is a major plus

Medical Laboratory experience is a major plus

Ability to work in a fast paced/multi-tasking environment

Ability to handle stressful situations

Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a biohazard environment

Ability to maintain production and quality standards

Be able to effectively communicate with any level of the organization

Industry recognized technical certification/demonstrated experience:

Certified Professional 6.0 and/or 6.5 - Data Center Virtualization; Dell Compellent; MCSE; or CCNA

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or technical related field preferred
