Job Summary:
The Storage Engineer is responsible for the research, design, installation, configuration and maintenance of various storage infrastructure technologies including backup and restore within the Distributed Systems environment. The focus of this position will be to provide the organization with a senior level of technical skill with respect to Storage, Backup and Recovery and the ability to architect a solution that is sustainable for the future. The Storage Engineer has a strong working knowledge of operating systems, server hardware, and networking and how these entities are integrated into the infrastructure to support the corporate goals, business applications, product solutions, and their operational requirements.
Responsibilities:
Provision storage for VMWare Environment
Plan for capacity increases and business growth
Manage a Brocade Fiber Channel SAN environment
Manage multiple storage arrays from multiple vendors
Monitor throughput and performance of arrays
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
2 to 3 years of Windows, UNIX, and VMWare administration.
2 to 3 years of experience with IBM and EMC storage devices.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Teamwork and communication skills highly recommended.
Strong troubleshooting skills highly recommended.
Customer service skills are highly recommended.
