Job Requisition:
The Senior Storage Engineer works for and under the general direction of the Manager, Infrastructure Engineering, Online Business Unit. Responsibilities include installing, implementing, administering and troubleshooting storage services and related devices, providing Tier III support, and coordination of issue identification and resolution.
Strong working familiarity with centralized storage administration and engineering with hands-on experience. This person will work within a small team of engineers to provide support for multiple 24x7, high volumes, and transaction-oriented Web sites. Team is responsible for maintaining the highest stability and best possible performance of multiple large-scale, LINUX/UNIX based, online retail websites.
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and manage the 24x7 operation of multiple high volumes client web sites to ensure highest stability, availability and customer experience.
Participate in 24x7 on-call Systems support rotation.
Plan and perform hardware and software upgrades, preventative maintenance, high availability, disaster recovery failover and deployments (storage arrays, SAN Coordinate with vendors, development, business partners and escalation support teams as needed, all to follow the approval and change management processes.
Utilize third-party and custom monitoring tools to monitor, test and proactively identify problems with storage and related systems, applications, and networks; provide reports and action plans to resolve issues, and implement those plans.
Perform detailed, post event analysis of unusual or suspicious incidents, and direct needed procedure or process changes in response.
Maintain regular backup tools and perform recovery operations as needed.
Work closely with other members of the Engineering Department to ensure that systems issues and project milestones are met in a timely manner.
Develop, follow and enforce processes needed to maintain operational stability, security and site reliability and protect the user experience.

SKILLS/EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in computer science), or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience and strong, hands-on technical knowledge of HPE 3Par, NetApp NFS arrays and Symantec Netbackup software desired. Experience with Pure Storage and Solidfire arrays a plus.
Storage, SAN & NFS fundamentals required.Unix networking fundamentals, including diagnostics with Unix tools Red Hat Linux/CentOS 6 & 7 especially desired. Working knowledge of complex web hosting configuration components, including firewalls, load balancers, web and database servers a plus.
Experience with Linux/Unix and other open source software desired.
Scripting abilities and Unix tools to automate administration, such as python and Ansible, also especially desired.
