Position: Sr. Windows/VMWare Admin
Location: Herndon, VA
Duration: 6+ Months CTH / Fulltime

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

A years of experience managing Windows systems, including Windows Server 2008 /2012

At least 5 year of experience with Virtual infrastructure (i.e. VMWare vSphere)

At least 8 years of experience managing and supporting Active Directory (Directory Services, File Gateway Services, Replication, DNS, GPO)

At least 5 years of experience of Cluster Administrator (Failover Cluster)

At least 5 years of experience building, configuring, and managing Microsoft Windows servers in enterprise environments

At least 5 years of experience deploying Microsoft Windows based solutions such as Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft IIS , Certificate server, Failover Cluster for SQL, DNS, DHCP

At least 5 years of experience utilizing Patching tools (Shavlik \Bigfix) to manage and deploy software patches

At least 5 years of experience on MS SQL Database server

At least 2 years of experience on IBM based tools (ITM, SEA, Bigfix, TSM, TAD4D and Netapp Snap backups)

Off-shift work that includes evenings, weekends and on-call support

At least 5 years of experience proactively monitoring an Incident and Task Ticketing Queue

Ability to mentor junior level system administrators

Preferred Certification

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE)

Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

VMware Certified Professional (Datacenter)

Security+ certification

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

As a Windows Administrator your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Perform day to day troubleshooting and maintenance of Windows Servers and VDI systems.

Understanding of Data Center technologies and experience with maintaining a Data Center for a medium to large data center

Maintain and Administrate Active Directory Services\ DNS for different forests with multiple site levels, federation between the AD forest.

Demonstrated work history of 5 to 7 years of experience as a Mid to Senior level Group Policy Administrator with thorough security implementation experience and strategies

Mitigate security vulnerabilities found in vulnerability scans.

Maintain MS Failover Cluster services for Always on SQL cluster servers

IIS Server maintenance and troubleshooting

Hands on experience in maintain and troubleshooting ESXi servers, Virtual Center servers and windows virtual machines using VMware

Maintain template machines used for rapid deployment via cloning and deploy new servers based on customer requirements

Perform DISA STIGs against Windows servers and related installed software create and maintain system documentation and Standard Operating Procedures

Plan and design the patch cycle and administrator of patch tools (Shavlik and Bigfix)

Strong problem-solving skills

Work within a large team environment to design, test and implement the technical solution required to accomplish the statement of work within the designated project schedule

PKI certificate installation, troubleshooting and support

Maintain Application servers and support APP team for Application and OS troubleshooting

Experience developing best practices for maintaining servers standard to sustain a high availability of systems

Experience in PowerShell scripting

Ability to train junior team members

Experience in developing and maintaining Technical Documentation and Instructions
