Sr. UNIX Advisor (7072072)

3 month(s) Contract to hire position

Will be part of on call rotation every 5-6 weeks and will be on call for one week (usually during US hours Hours for on call are 8am-8pm local team.
Some weekend/night time work may be required for change overs, etc. 90% of the time it can be done from home but sometimes they may need to go into the office.

What are the three to five technical responsibilities of the position?
Absolute must have:
In-depth knowledge of AIX Operating system, Power HA, IBM’s Virtualization technologies PowerVM
Must have 5+ years of hands on experience with installing, configuring, customizing and maintaining IBM AIX operating system (AIX 6.1 and AIX 7.1 )
Must have knowledge of IBM PowerHA (clustering technology)
Must have in-depth of experience in managing IBM AIX hardware (Power7, Power8 series & HMC) including architecture, roadmap and implementations.

Requirements (but can be compromised):
Must have 5+ years of experience with installing, configuring, customizing, maintaining Linux Operating system.
Must have 5 + years of experience with capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning on AIX servers.
Strong knowledge of Linux Operating system and Virtualization technologies on Linux.
Must have In depth knowledge of IBM LVM (Logical Volume Manager)
Must have In-depth Knowledge of IBM PowerVM
Must be familiar with NIM ( Network Installation Manager)

Preferences
Knowledge of Shell scripting – Korn, Perl
ITIL Training and Certification
Have worked with off-shore teams in a cross-matrix reporting environment
