Our client, a public US medical device manufacturer who develops medical technologies for the treatment of diabetes and specifically insulin infusion therapy seeks accomplished Sr. Technical Copy Writer.

Description:
Responsible for planning, researching, writing and editing instructions for use (IFUs) such as user guides and reference guides while learning regulations, standards, laws and internal procedures that impact the design of these materials.
Additional responsibilities include drafting Q&A documents and video scripts on a variety of customer support topics related to our products, our business, and diabetes physiology and treatment.
The technical copy writer will report to Marketing Communications, but will be expected to work independently with other departments to acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, regulatory, quality and marketing personnel, and by referring to product and technical specifications and engineering illustrations.
Write, rewrite, and edit instructions for use (IFUs) such as User Guides, Reference Guides and reference manuals, software screen text, online or mobile IFUs, product inserts and video scripts, to clearly and effectively communicate technical instructions and product information.
Assist in the writing and editing of collateral materials, web content, white papers and various other items spanning subjects related to diabetes physiology, diabetes management, insulin pumps, health insurance, and the medical device industry.
Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing senior writers, product developers, regulatory, quality, and marketing personnel, and by referring to the product, technical specifications, and engineering illustrations.
Learn how regulations, standards, laws, product specifications, and internal procedures impact the design of IFUs. Coordinate preparation of technical illustrations.
Requirements:
BA/BS Degree. 8+ years of technical copywriting experience (writing samples in multiple formats will be requested
Extensive experience with FrameMaker to help prepare and edit technical documents/manuals.
Previous experience managing multi-lingual content a plus.
Experience managing content through committee review processes.
Proven marketing, copy/technical writing skills for a technology or medical company.
Familiarity with ISO regulations, FDA QSR Design Controls, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), etc.
Working knowledge of software technologies used for writing, publishing, and document control.
Excellent proofreading and fact-checking skills.
