Role : Sr. Tableau Developer
Location : Hartford, CT.
Duration : long term assignment


Position Summary
Responsible for the successful delivery of analyses and analytic solutions to meet business needs, interacting directly with end-users and colleagues. Ideal candidate will proactively lead a program and/or most complex projects by setting strategic direction and will be very comfortable designing and developing dashboards in Tableau. The ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment and a passion for exceeding user’s expectations are key qualities to be successful in this role.

Fundamental Components:
Extensive knowledge of data visualization techniques and visual design concepts
Design and develop user friendly dashboards using complex health care datasets from different sources
Create high performance visualizations that address strategic and tactical business needs
Develop reusable modular templates, connected dashboards and self-service reporting
Evaluate dashboard performance periodically and improve dashboard load/refresh times
Cross function/segment group facilitation/presentation to increase awareness and promote adoption of dashboards
Showcase outcomes/results of statistical models on intuitive dashboards
Mentor internal development team and promote analytics opportunities
Implement best practices to ensure dashboard design consistency across all dashboards for best user experience
Very good understanding of relational data structures and skilled in writing complex data analysis queries
Expert in working with JavaScript and REST APIs and Server enablement
Good knowledge about Tableau Geo-coding, Statistical and Forecasting features
Excellent in using Level of Detail (LOD) and table calculations
Skilled in using histograms, Bins, box plot and whisker plots

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE Desired:
Experience with Tableau as well as designing and developing dashboards using Tableau Desktop for various organizational metrics and indicators using best practices and industry standards
Experience in working and communicating with both the business and technical stakeholders
Experience in building dashboards for health care or pharmaceutical industry executives
Experience in creating less maintenance self-service model for user reporting
Very good skill in blending data sources and leveraging Tableau functions
Expertise with RDBMs, SQL Server, DB2 and SQL programming
Solid knowledge of data analysis and preparation techniques (SAS)
Knowledge of statistical modeling

EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
