Role Summary
The Sr. Systems Architect – Compute & Cloud Platforms drives innovative solutions using new technologies to enhance the firm’s technology posture. The position provides strategic and operational planning to oversee deployment of enterprise technology systems and solutions for the firm.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for designing and implementing enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing. Deep understanding of system development and migration planning in cloud environments, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS
Provide leadership in infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques including mass application movements into the cloud including implementation of Azure, Google or AWS. Ideally within large regulated enterprise environments.
Establish compute and SAN expertise internally and externally to drive Cloud Adoption.
Lead the analysis of the current Shearman environments to identify critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Scope of work includes evaluating compute and associated storage architectures to optimize end user performance into Shearman’s global applications.
Collaborate with technology and business support peers (Operations, PMO, Information Security) to enable change in platform systems with the goal of achieving more capable and cost effective solutions.
Understand new and emerging technologies to enable advanced compute (on premise and off premise) architectures.
Establish operational integrity of key enterprise-wide Shearman systems and tools. Architect best-of-breed platforms improving availability & performance of the environments.
Coach, mentor and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and peers to propose and deploy primary and DR services that enable and drive enhanced business capabilities and operating models.
Oversee and evaluate best-of-breed hardware, software compute technologies and tools.
Assist with designing the governance, assurance and standards activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance.
Oversee critical technology implementations for cloud and third party connectivity solutions. Consult on infrastructure development projects to harmonize systems when necessary to modify the enterprise technical architecture (ETA) to accommodate project needs.
Develop budgets and hardware/software ordering specifications. Analyze vendor costs and develop infrastructure ROI as appropriate in support of budget activities.


Skills & Attributes
Proven experience across state of the art network infrastructure and mobility technologies including : Microsoft Active Directory 20012, VMWare v 6.5, Sharepoint 2013, Citrix Xen App/Xen Desktop 7.x,, VMWare NSX, EMC ECS, EMC Vmax, Veeam, EMC Networker.
Knowledge of further Cloud technologies (Azure, S3, VMware)
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Education & Experience
Essential

Minimum of five years of design and implementation experience in IT, with a deep knowledge in: Cisco compute products & cloud infrastructure technologies and tools, CASB vendor, infrastructure as code modeling, advanced networking, SAN Engineering.
4+ years'' experience as an IT Infrastructure Architect, with focus on Azure, cloud, server, storage and networking.
3+ years'' experience with MS Server Operating Systems
3+ years'' experience with MS SQL, Sharepoint and .NET
Engineering and or computer science degree from an accredited institution.

Desirable
Master’s degree preferred.
Togaf Certification.
