Background:
The FEP Operations Center is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect that is a subject matter expert in application/systems monitoring to support the standardization of application monitoring packages for several SOW’s 2017 and beyond.
Responsible for software solution and architecture for systems and application monitoring tools with the company’s implementation of Hewlett Packard’s (HP) Business Service Management (BSM) suite of software tools, Real User Monitor (RUM), SiteScope, Universal Configuration Management Database (uCMDB), HP Diagnostics and Business Process Monitor (BPM These tools are used to monitor applications and business transactions that impact the business and customers. Responsibilities include working with application and performance engineering teams to design and engineer solutions between tools, feeding data between systems and reporting development for service levels, as needed, as well as integration with other tools and collaboration with other groups and their tools.

Tasks:
Make recommendations to enhance current tool sets within the Microfocus/HPE suite of monitoring tools (BSM suite of software tools, BPM, vuGen, RUM, SiteScope, uCMDB, and HP Diagnostics) as well as appropriate monitoring tools from other vendors.
Work with application and performance engineering teams to determine optimal solutions for current and future management/monitoring solutions.
Provide on-site architecture, engineering, and consulting sessions with all teams for new or existing tools.
Development of BSM dashboards, SLA Reports, and custom end-user BAC reports.
Creates documentation to support the management and maintenance of ITSM/BSM tools.
Provides training on tools and the associated processes and procedures.
Analyzes tool data and usage. Communicates weekly with management verbally and via written detailed status reports regarding potential problems and concerns.
Assists in reviewing and analyzing business & system requirements and specifications for systems monitoring tool protocols and future tool usage.
Provide consultation for existing and future tool sets as a subject matter expert around Network and Systems management and monitoring suites
Develop or adopt performance management frameworks for ensuring consistent fault discovery and event management solutions across multiple platforms.

Specific Required Skills:
8-10 years strong IT experience and good working knowledge of a variety of technology platforms in a distributed environment including: Microsoft systems (e.g. Windows 2008 Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint), Linux/Unix, VMWare, SQL Server, database architectures, TCP/IP, VPNs, Mainframe, LAN/WAN technologies and architectures
A minimum of 5-8 years hands-on experience installing, integrating, managing and maintaining Hewlett Packard’s Business Service Management (BSM), Business Process Monitor (BPM) and Real User Monitor (RUM) tool administration and support.
Experience writing VuGen, shell, perl, WMI or VBS scripts
Experience developing and documenting processes, procedures, and policies for tool usage and integration
Author tool maintenance and training documentation as well as support requests for training on tool usage
Knowledge and experience with configuring alerts, dashboards and ad-hoc reports
Strong understanding of service level management (SLAs, SLRs, etc)
Determine and document tool backup and recovery procedures
Experience with data management tools and databases (e.g., DB2, SQL, Sybase-familiarity desired)
