Sr. Software QA Automation Engineer
Location: Houston, TX – Local Candidates Highly Preferred
Duration – 6 months
The Software QA Automation Engineer has first-hand experience in developing automated test regimes for scalable services and applications targeted at public clouds such as Google Cloud, Azure and AWS. They have implemented and deployed comprehensive unit and integration test suites enabling continuous delivery of robust and high quality solutions. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful Cloud Test Engineer is technical with excellent team skills. They work effectively with internal and external customers and have demonstrated leadership within professional associations. They have effective verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated track record of understanding user needs and achieving user satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Builds unit and integration tests, test rigs and mocks suitable for validating the correctness of service API implementations.
Follows best practices associated with DevOps and value-driven development – ensuring quality from concept to production.
Works well in a small team and capable of collaborating with other teams to align objectives and share expertise throughout the broader organization.
Identifies and keeps abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.
May author technical reports, papers, articles, patents and presentations.
Qualifications
Bachelors / Masters / PhD degree in science or engineering with software experience or education.
Minimum three years’ experience as a test engineer.
DevOps experience with continuous delivery on public clouds such as Google Cloud, Azure or AWS.
Competency with programing languages such as Java, JavaScript/typescript, Python, Bash.
Experience with agile product development practices required.
Experience with continuous deployment practices required.
Experience with microservices architecture, development, deployment and testing.
Familiarity with container or virtualization technologies.
