Role: Sr. SQL DBA
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Duration: 6+ Month
TOP 3 REQUIRED SKILLS:
1. Good team player, extremely organized, self-directed, flexible is key – a by the book dba isn’t going to work
2. SQL 2012-2017
3. Sr level, experience as a sole DBA with complex & large volume databases. They will be the only individual on team that does DBA work. Has to know tasks that he/she needs to do – not be told what to do. Not a WF type candidate.
4. Experience with a data warehouse environment.
5. Experience working for the application development team - This DBA reports into the application side. Some dba’s report into infrastructure. Culture is different. They need someone that has reported up to the application development manager before.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
1. Needs to manage health of database environment – if corruption, restore it, etc
2. Monitor and maintain database performance – builds and deploys scripts, run reports, use tools, build queries or run queries already built, monitor realtime – they use a tool called Appdynamics which most dba’s wouldn’t know because it’s not a traditional dba tool.
