Position: Sr PeopleSoft DBA

Location: Palo Alto,CA

Duration: FULL TIME



Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager of HR Systems a University IT Dept, this position provides critical PeopleSoft applications and database administration support of enterprise business systems for client. A successful candidate will have good experience in the installation, upgrade and maintenance of PeopleSoft production and development infrastructure environments. Candidate must have PeopleSoft Administration as well as database administration experience.

JOB PURPOSE:


Install, configure, upgrade, administer, monitor, and maintain highly available PeopleSoft PIA, web, application servers and databases.



CORE DUTIES*:

· Provide PeopleSoft applications administration and databases services support.

· Build, configure, secure and enhance PeopleSoft PIA server environments.

· Design, develop, and maintain highly-available application environments (load balancing and clustering methods

· Maintain, monitor highly available and secure databases environments.

· Provide on-going application patching, administration and technical support.

· Configure, upgrade, and support relational database management systems (Oracle RDBMS, MySQL, etc.

· Utilize products such as OEM, Cloud Control, PPM, PTF to monitor health of systems.

· Develop and maintain efficient and appropriate integration/connectivity solutions between various campus databases to ensure necessary data is available as needed.

· Assist in performance loading testing, tuning and improving operational processes.

· Review the physical and logical design of databases for optimal database structures, performance tuning, security, and database backup/recovery. Plan and implement pro-active and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.

· Take responsibility for database design and performance optimization, backup and recovery, as well as monitoring the overall health of the database environment.

· Perform and maintain change management process and procedure.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Must have some PeopleSoft Administration experience.

· Hardworking, quick learner with can-do attitude.

· Team player and work with multi-functional teams

· Good PeopleSoft and Oracle DBA skills(Oracle 11g and 12c

· Experienced with recent PeopleSoft and PeopleTools 8.54+ patching and upgrade

· Experienced on Middleware technology with Tuxedo 11g and 12c, Apache, Tomcat and fusion middleware.

· PeopleSoft Cloud deployments using DPK

· UNIX Shell. WLST/Shell scripting, SQL scripting automation is highly preferred.

· Demonstrated experience in the support requirements of large database applications/systems including performance analysis and tuning of high volume, transaction systems.

· Knowledge of Linux and Windows systems platform.

· Oracle Apex administration is a plus.

· Good experience in shell programming environments.

· Ability to work well independently or as a team member.

· Ability to maintain knowledge of new and current technology and trends.

· Ability to collaborate with vendors and system service providers, provide administration for system solutions, and act as a liaison.

· Extensive experience with database security protocol.

Desired Skills:

· Skilled in troubleshooting, configuring Weblogic, Apache, Tomcat, Server and Oracle logs.

· Proven experience in Apache and Weblogic servers. SSL certificate management – PKI, CSR, keytool, key creation via openssl and weblogic keystore management

· Setup and management of Oracle data guard. GC, MySQL and or MongoDB experience is a plus.

· Skilled in installation/setup and management of highly available application clustered environment.

· Cloud implementation experience is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

· Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

· Frequently sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.

· Occasionally stand/walk, use a telephone.

· Rarely writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.



WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Extended and weekend hours.

· Some off hour work maybe required during work week.

· Must be available for on-call work.
