Install, administer and maintain IT related equipment
Establish and implement recommendations to improve the reliability, accessibility, and performance of the network, server, and storage infrastructures.
Ensure installation and configuration of network equipment, servers, and storage are done according to established guidelines.
Install and maintain server applications including Microsoft SQL, Exchange, Skype for Business, SCCM, and other business applications.
Monitor and maintain all IT related equipment to ensure maximum availability to the organization.
Projects and Initiatives
Research and implement projects and initiatives as determined by the IS Management Team.
Ensure timely completion of all projects and initiatives.
Engage and manage outside vendor and contract resources as required.
Complete all required documentation in accordance with established guidelines.
Research and Training
Pursue training and educational opportunities.
Research and study trends, market shifts, and news related to our business and technology.
Expand knowledge of the business in general and understand the concerns of the business not necessarily related to IS.
Network Infrastructure
Monitor and respond to network related issues in a timely manner.
Install and maintain network related equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, IPS/IDS, etc. according to established guidelines.
Establish and implement recommendations to improve the reliability, accessibility, and performance of the network infrastructure.
Help Desk
Work with Helpdesk staff and Network Administrators to complete 2nd and 3rd level calls in a timely manner.
Engage and manage outside resources as needed to ensure the completion of 3rd level calls.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
An IS/IT related Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is preferred.
Direct and relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
Industry standard certifications from Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE) and Cisco (CCENT, CCT
Must possess valid driver’s license.
Must be able to travel internationally
Experience:
4 years of experience installing, configuring, and administering VMWare VSphere.
4 years of experience installing, configuring and administering enterprise SAN storage.
8 years of experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco networking equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers and APs.
8 years of experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting server equipment.
HP servers and blades is a plus.
2 Microsoft product certifications such and 1 Cisco networking certification.
Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows services including DNS, DHCP, DFS, etc.
Demonstrated willingness and ability to interface with various internal and external business associates.
Abilities:
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and consultants ranging from entry level to executive level positions.
Ability to manage and coordinate the work of technical consultants and/or contractors.
Ability to analyze complex software problems and devise creative and effective solutions.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage external contractors and resources as needed.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Light physical effort.
Requires standing, sitting, walking, talking, seeing, hearing, fine dexterity, and handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds.
