Position : Sr. Network Engineer
Location : Pasadena, CA
Duration : 12+ months Contract
Job Description:
Sr. Network Engineer with in-depth understanding of networking systems and TCP/IP to include experience in IP Addressing and Subnetting; Network Address Translations; MTU; QoS. Strong knowledge of Routing and Switching systems (Fortinet); understanding of Routing Protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP) and Gateway Redundancy Protocols. Ability to perform (intermediate level) configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of IP network infrastructure (LAN and WAN devices
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
8+ years of experience with managing and operating networking environments for mission critical business functions in a mid to large scale enterprises
Supporting Linux and Microsoft Windows Server based operating systems in a physical, virtual, and cloud based environment.
Interface and coordinate with ISP’s for break/fix, installation, and moves/adds/changes of Internet connectivity.
Design patterns (firewall as well as additional products), certifications desired
An understanding of cloud services, specifically Amazon Web Services and exposure to products like EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, and Cloud Watch
Must have experience with security compliance and implementation
Testing:
Candidate should have experience with testing the infrastructure they build and have experience with tools and methodologies to conduct the testing
Should be able to demonstrate experience with security compliance testing/verification (in addition to implementation)
Hard Requirements:
HANDS ON position: Candidate must be able to not only help with design of systems but must also be able to "turn a wrench" and have ability to physically implement the designs in a hands on manner
Must NOT have ever had a bankruptcy
Must be able to pass a drug screen (regardless of local state regulations)
Must pass a background check
Locations of Work and Travel:
Primary locations of work; Bethesda Maryland, Pasadena California, Chicago Illinois
Candidates would work for several months at a time out of one of these locations
Travel expenses would be reimbursed
Candidates must be able to fly to the other locations at customers discretion to support work at all 3 locations
Duration:
12 month with high probability of extension for candidates that prove good value over that time
Additional:
Experience with Fortinet is highly desirable and preference will be given to candidates with that experience assuming they meet the other above criteria

Must have hands on experience in the technologies above as they will be expected to implement the solutions
