Role Summary:
Required to design and implement projects and solutions using best practices and procedures adhering to Global Architecture standards to meet business requirements. These will be business or internally driven projects that require focus for delivery on time and in budget. The Network Engineering team will work closely with the Network Architecture team to ensure the infrastructure is developed according to the defined strategy.
The Network Engineering team must ensure the Network Operations team is informed of all changes and all new solutions are handed over with up to date documentation to support the solution.

Key Accountabilities:
Ability to design solutions that adhere to Architecture standards
Excellent design and project management skills across many disciplines
Identify and document formal project scope, purpose, project boundaries, and end result desired
Support the on-call business process for off-hours (tier 3 support)
Strong documentation and reporting skills
Strong understanding for the need of process and standardization
Strong understanding of the business needs and priorities
Strong focus on future strategy and technology.
The ability to make the final decision.
Able to influence decision and negotiate with suppliers at a high level
Provide level 3 support to the Network Operations team
Strong security knowledge covering Firewalls, Policy, IDS/IPS, VPN Solutions, and Security practices. Strong product knowledge is essential
Strong routing knowledge and design experience including EIGRP, IS-IS, BGP
Strong Voice knowledge on traditional and new technologies (VoIP)
Excellent knowledge of Cisco hardware and configuration including IOS and CatOS. Knowledge of other vendors is an advantage.
Strong Process oriented attitude
Understanding of Windows and UNIX platforms
Willingness to work weekends and extended hours
Strong team oriented attitude
Willingness to support the on-call business process for off-hours

Skills:
8-12 years of focused experience in a Network Engineering/Network Operations role preferably in the Financial Services industry
Comprehensive experience in troubleshooting complex network issues to determine root cause and ability to handle escalated issues that the Network Operations personnel are unable to resolve
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of personnel both internally and externally
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously working with minimal supervision
Proven analytical, reasoning and organizational skills
Strong team oriented attitude
Strong documentation and reporting skills
Strong understanding for the need of process and standardization

Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent technical training and experience
Detailed knowledge of network design concepts and best practices
Detailed knowledge of the following technologies, protocols and tools advantageous
Network design experience ideally incorporating Cisco, F5, Arista, HP technologies/platforms and common protocols
Routing Protocols and ability to resolve routing issues (OSPF, ISIS, EIGRP, BGP), LAN/WAN/MAN technologies
Security technologies (IDS/IPS, Checkpoint Firewalls, Blue Coat Proxies, VPN, NAC)
Virtualization technologies, Public Cloud providers (e.g. Amazon AWS)
Common Operating Systems (Linux/Unix/Microsoft)
Strong working knowledge of network and security architecture and operations functions, tools and processes
