Work experience & education:
Bachelor of Engineering / Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology OR a related field with 10 -15 years of recent, relevant experience.
Minimum 8 -10 yrs. experience in Network design & supporting complex enterprise networks
Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE R&S), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP R&S), Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) & other industry certifications
ITIL knowledge /certification
Knowledge & Skills:
Senior Network engineer with experience of Network architecture / design, implementation and support of complex enterprise networks for 24x7 operations
Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions & evaluate emerging technologies
Collaborate with other local / global team engineers, Mentoring / Coaching of colleagues and support personnel as a team
Capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices for the Corp Network. Solid trouble shooting skills including packet level analysis.
Strong technical expertise of IPV6, MPLS, VSS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DMVP, IPSEC, multicast, policy-based routing, Link Aggregation (LACP), vPC, QoS, traffic-shaping, ACI, network and data security etc.
Experience in Configuration & troubleshooting of Cisco 2600, 3900, 7500, 7200 and ASR Series Routers and 4500, 6500 Series Core-Switches & 2950, 4500, 3750 Series Access Layer Switches and DC switches Nexus 2k, 5k &7k series
Network performance analysis & monitoring
Network Automation skills, knowledge of SDN & Open Stack will be a plus.
Install, maintain and troubleshoot network equipment, perform fault and problem management to ensure services are maintained according to the service levels defined
Hands on experience on firewalls like Juniper and Palo Alto.
Hands of experience on Cisco ASA’s. Should be comfortable with troubleshooting VPN issues.
Troubleshooting on various layers (i.e. Access, Distribution, WLAN, Perimeter layer and at MPLS end) in case of slowness/network down issue reported from processes and identify the root cause
Exceptional documentation skills that can clearly articulate technical designs, issues and constraints, procedures, and network assessments
Good understanding of structured cabling standards
Excellent presentation and communication skills regarding technical and non-technical concepts
