Sr. Microsoft Dynamics AX Functional Lead

Atlanta ,GA

Contract

POSITION SUMMARY

The AX Functional Lead position will work closely with a combined in-house
and consultant based Dynamics AX 2012 R3 project team. The ideal candidate
will have the ability to understand requirements, evaluate alternative
solutions, resolve issues, communicate project status, and document system
changes.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be assisting in the
design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the Dynamics AX ERP
system.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Configuration (65%)

Ability to analyze business specifications, provide time
estimates, and assist in the conversion of requirements into technical
specifications

Manage and maintain Dynamics AX administrative tasks such as
User Management, Configuration, and Deployment

Functional knowledge of third party integrations and
associated external systems
Ability to install and configure all aspects of Microsoft
Dynamics AX

Functional knowledge of the following AX modules: System
Administration, Project Management, General Ledger, Accounts Payable,
Accounts Receivable, Sourcing and Procurement, Master Planning, Human
Resources, Inventory Management, and Product Information

Participate in code promotion within AX 2012 R3 Environment
Participating in peer code review sessions as functional lead
Access AOT for minor table and form modification
Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies and
procedures aligned with best practices for segregation of duties
Assist management with the establishment of development
standards

Support (20%)
Provide implementation and production support to the AX
project team and the AX Core team
Ability to review AX related system issues and provide end
user resolution

Excellent interpersonal communication skills; be able to
interact with and address employees at all levels in a professional manner
Have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and
procedures in a retail sales environment

Have a functional understanding of accounting, sales,
manufacturing, inventory, and warehouse management in ERP systems.
Functional level knowledge of the following AX modules is
preferred: Service Management, Fixed Assets, Travel and Expense,
Organizational Administration and Manufacturing Execution
Ability to work with functional leaders to analyze current
practices, implement changes, and incorporate process improvement related
modifications

Testing (10%)

Assists in creation of user test cases.
Assists in testing and troubleshooting hardware and
applications to ensure integration with product deployments and supports
performance and end-to-end testing.

Contributes to test plans to ensure functional and
non-functional requirements are articulated in a consistent fashion.
Participates in testing and training sessions and leads
efforts for a smooth transition into the production system
Design, develop, test and monitor plans for AX security
implementation

Developing test plans and participates in code testing at Unit
and Beta level

Documentation (5%)

Assists with documentation of AX features and training
materials
Drafts use case documentation to prepare functional users for
the AX system

Assists in the management of use case scenarios to coordinate
use case assignments and statuses with the core team and users
Maintains ERP systems technical documentation
Performs Other Responsibilities As Assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

Requires at least 2 years of experience in Administration and
Configuration in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Bachelor''s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or
a related field preferred or a combination of education and hands on AX
development experience

Experience in interpreting business and user requirements and
providing IT solutions
Experience in prior upgrades and implementation with AX
Dynamics 2012
Experience supporting financials systems in retail,
manufacturing, food and beverage industry preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

In depth understanding of accounting processes, functionality,
and systems
In depth working knowledge of ERP system''s financial modules
In depth code working knowledge of AX Configuration and
Deployment

Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, user support, module
setup, and workflows
Understanding of Dynamics AX data structures
Working knowledge of interpreting business and user
requirements and providing IT solutions

Working knowledge of the interdependencies between/across
businesses to proactively identify risks/issues that could have an impact on
business results

Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to business
leaders and technical resources in clear concise language; to convey clear,
concise information in verbal, written, electronic, and other communication
formats; to demonstrate active listening while engaging others

Ability to develop and maintain positive business
