Job Description :
You will be part of a bright, high-performing team supporting a commercial conglomerate. 

This open position will complement the project directive (described below) to ensure *NIX operating systems are built, staged, maintained, and monitored for optimal performance while creating, integrating, and maintaining automated capabilities for increased efficiencies.

The customer desires to leverage full utility of Splunk technology to monitor cyber security, protect IT infrastructure, and enable rapid containment and resolution to IT security incidents.  Current project directive involves implementing and maintaining the Production Splunk ecosystem of Splunk Core, Splunk Enterprise Security, and feature the people, process, and tools that enable successful adoption assuring the solution is able to meet the objectives of the business. 

The Role:


Focus on automating some of the day-to-day SysAdmin tasks on the *NIX side,
Assist in developing scripts for Puppet/OpsView. 


What You Need to Bring to the Table:

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with:


Unix/Linux  server operations and administration
At least 3 years Python/Shell scripting experience
Must be able to develop scripts to automate routine processes in direct support of administering Unix environments (Python and Shell)
Knowledge creating packages (RPM/PPA)
Open source systems development, monitoring and management tools (such as nagios, puppet, spacewalk/satellite, etc
Software installation and patching for both servers and workstations
Local Area Network configuration,  protocols, network applications, and tools (LDAP, DNS, IMAP, NFS, SNMP, routing, etc, at both the server and client perspective
Experience writing scripts to monitor performance of systems and services to insure efficient operation and high availability (Python and Shell)


Desired Qualifications:


Experience supporting, or as a member of, a Network Security Operations team
Managing and configuring system logging (rsyslog/syslog/syslog-ng)
Operational amiliarity with irewalls, IDS, Malware Detection, and other Network Security Technologies
Associate or Bachelor Degree in an IT related field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc  or equivalent
Experience using and/or administering Splunk (a plus)
Experience with Puppet (developing and updating Puppet modules [big plus])
