Unique Skills:

Expertise in Linux RedHat and/ or SuSE operating systems preferred.
Experience with scripting languages preferred.
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services in Linux such as Oracle, etc preferred.
Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef desired.
Familiarity with load balancing firewalls, etc.
Proficient with network management tools such as Tivoli Netcool, etc. desired.
Experience with virtualization technologies preferred.
Ability to build and monitor services on production servers preferred.
RHCSA, RHCE, RHCA, or VMware VCP versions 5 or 6 certifications preferred.
Significant knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as DHCP, DNS, Basic Active Directory, Basic Group Policy and security vulnerability mitigation preferred.
Good understanding of corporate IT policies, procedures and standard desired.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor''s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technology related field preferred.
Ten (10) years experience designing, building and supporting server solutions.

Position Purpose:

Design, implement, maintain and support data center server solutions that meet specified non-functional requirements for the business.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Responsible for operational excellence of data center server systems assuring reliability, high performance, secure operations.
Manage, implement, and support data center server solutions with primary focus on monitoring, computing, design deployment, systems maintenance, capacity management, change control, storage management, application processing, network, and security services, for production and test environments.
Manage server solution projects by working closely with product development teams and business management to set and achieve service level targets.
Coordinate, prioritize, and report on key activities and projects in a timely manner.
Establish and regularly report metrics needed for continuous improvement, capacity management, and other general requirement of a systems development lifecycle.
Build solutions that incorporate capabilities for rapid problem detection and resolution including escalation policies used by network operations centers staff and incident response teams.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

Experience with servers, storage, networks, operating systems, databases, and middleware components.
Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with configuration, implementation and support of Cisco UCS Blade servers.
Knowledge and experience in virtualization for software defined environments (i.e. network, servers, storage, test
Knowledge of physical/virtual server, storage, nearline/offline backup, disaster recovery, and networking concepts and fundamentals.
