JOB DESCRIPTION
Sr Java developer needs to know Hadoop. Client is moving away from the traditional Oracle DW to a Hadoop warehouse. He or she will likely be working on decommissioning very old Java batch jobs and replacing with Java Spring batch jobs. The jobs will generate Activity Events that get sent to Kafka; Spark Streaming; HDFS and SOLR and displayed on a close to Real time Cloudera Search Dashboard. The batch jobs are responsible for fulfilling balance transfers, credit card payments, and payment returns.

Overall Job Purpose: Responsible for the technical implementation of a project.
Deliver high quality development using diverse tools and systems including but not limited to:
Java/J2EE
SOA (Rest/WSDL/XSD/XML)
Spring (WS/IOC/Integration)
Hibernate
Oracle Coherence
Multi-tiered infrastructure including load balancers, databases, apache, application servers etc.
JUnit/TestNG/Cucumber
Strong understanding of key initiatives including:
Agile development practices (Scrum/Kanban
“DevOps” including continuous deployment.
TDD – Test driven development
