Must Haves :
Core Java - threads and Multithreading ( executors, data structures, exception handling ) , collections (like concurrent hashmap, copy on write arraylist, , hashing details etc ) , garbage collections , generics.

Should be familiar on J2EE like Spring, Spring MVC and basic design patterns like singleton, factory, service locator etc

Database familiarity like basic sql queries, stored procedure, indexes etc (Oracle DB is added advantage compared to sybase/sql server/db2
