Job Description :
Our client is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Architect located in DFW. This will be a 6 month contract to hire.

Key skills:
Storage (SAN, NAS, vSAN, etc
VMWare (must have experience with large systems, 1000+ VMs)
Load Balancers (F5 and NetScaler)
Software systems that support data centers (Monitoring, CMDB, etc
NetBackup
Windows, Linux, Solaris operating systems
Server hardware (HP and Cisco)

Nice to have:
Cloud

Additional Information:
The best candidate will be a contributing member of the team creating service architectures, providing oversight for technical components, and creating technical roadmaps for services. The individual will be responsible for the design, strategy, architecture patterns and standards of various midrange systems such as load balancing, virtualization, storage, and other data center technologies and services that produce value for the corporation while leading and mentoring throughout the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual accountabilities
* Create and document: vision, strategy, standards, policies, patterns, service architectures and presentations
* Consults and advises vertically aligned application and infrastructure architects on infrastructure services and technologies
* Apply technology to reduce costs and/or improve productivity resulting in value to the company
* Review and validate work optimizations for services while removing barriers that prevent productivity
* Communicate verbally and deliver documentation in a timely and professional manner
* Understand end to end implementation of technology domain
* Stay up to date with and evaluate technology and best practices
Service Projects
* Provide work breakdown structure/project plan of architecture deliverables to PMs for project effort
* Review business project requirements and produce design requirements
* Review engineering level design to ensure the engineering solution meets or exceeds the architecture design
* Produce candidate architectures and standards compliant final architectures
* Review candidate and final bill of materials to ensure the project system solution is met and/or to maintain service SLAs
* Review architectural decisions and communications prior to external communications
* Contribute/review/sign off on project funding, schedule, and strategy documentation to ensure architectural compliance
* Consult and influence application teams on the appropriate technical usage of our services
* Lead architecture design and compliance throughout project efforts including audits/environment validations before going operational
Governance
* Review engineering level design changes to ensure the service SLAs are maintained and impacted in a positive manner
* Coordinate and communicate overall technical design of the service to management/service owners; especially when it comes to information leaving the group.
* Act as a higher level of support above operations and MSPs
* Conduct and coordinate analysis and review sessions of EIS to ensure optimal service behavior and improve future state of service
* Effectively communicate to end customer and technical community the core architecture and enhancements
* Continually enforces compliance of IT standards with our service offerings internally and externally to the service teams
* Stay informed on change impact of services and influence/advise on change management efforts

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; advance degree preferred
* Must have a minimum of 6 years’ experience architecting Midrange and Data Center systems and technologies and 10 years of experience in the infrastructure field
* Experience with software technologies like VMWare vSphere, OpenStack, Cloud Foundry, HP OneView, HP uCMBD, MoveIT, NetBackup, Windows Server, RHEL, and Solaris.
* Experience with hardware technologies like Dell/EMC Storage devices, F5 BigIP devices, HP Blade and Enclosure hardware
* Excellent analytical, communications (written and verbal), customer service, and decision making skills
* Demonstrate strong prioritization, time management and organization skills
* Ability to convey complex ideas and concepts to all levels staff
* Must be able to work independently and also as a team member with minimal supervision
