Required: CCIE (Routing and Switching) certification and 8+ years of experience in developing and implementing complex infrastructure solutions.
Description:
Our client is seeking an engineer that will be equally technically and non-technically qualified to collaborate with other team members and organizations to develop solutions to support client’s personnel and members. This candidate is required to have a CCIE certification and experience with routing, switching, and use that knowledge to develop and implement complex infrastructure solutions. This includes working with network diagnostic and management tools, configuration and management of routers/switches, functioning knowledge of firewall and/or security devices, load balancing technologies, implementation of IP services, DNS, and/or DHCP solutions.
Further technical requirements are:
BGP – Adept at understanding and configuring every attribute used in BGP path selection to manipulate traffic to fit specific requests/scenarios
OSPF – Ability to configure advanced and conditional policy to achieve desired outcome in terms of downstream LAN path preference
SD-WAN – Advanced understanding of control and data plane separation as it relates to SD-WAN solutions and a solid understanding of tunneling and overlay protocols such as DTLS, IPSec, and Viptela OMP
CEF – Understands the various hashing options and uses other protocols to overcome the load sharing limitations of CEF
MPLS – Deep knowledge on both carrier provided L3 MPLS VPN services and enterprise MPLS forwarding (label exchange between KP owned routers)
Multicast – Solid understanding of multicast over WAN and advanced methods to control scope as it relates to local versus global groups
SIP – Ability to understand how IP Voice traverses the WAN and the components that make up a carrier provided SIP Trunking offering
QoS – Deep knowledge on enterprise classification, marking, and queueing for real time and other delay sensitive applications
NAT – Working knowledge of how PAT/NAT work and how they are applied to Internet & Extranet Edge designs

Non-technically, the candidate will:
Provide guidance to engineers in the upgrade or creation of designs to meet business requirements.
Need to have experience translating business requirements into technical specifications.
Have a strong ability to consult with leadership to develop strategic and tactical direction within the team and organization.
Advise leadership and collaborate with stakeholders to coordinate, implement, and prioritize plans to meet standards & requirements.
Lead in recommending improvements to existing systems and identify potential issues for escalation and resolution.
Consult in updates to processes, procedures, guidelines, and standards, including quality controls. Guide and participate in investigations, analysis, reviews, and evaluations of advanced technologies.
Backfilling Principle Engineer - works mostly on the consulting and setting up the implementation
Person needs to be an expert in routing (BGP - a lot of DC routing/work)
Multiple project SDWAN project is just kicking off - this work will need oversight
MPLS to SDWAN sites (we are doing some 50 sites this year)
Understanding the different flavors of MPLS (cloud vs SDWAN)
Experience with SIP work is very important (current projects)
The engineer will have oversight of the WWT work (MOP perspective)
People who have worked with a service provider would be ideal
People need to really good at communication and documentation
The consultant should be proactive in issue resolution
Comfortable leading and training junior engineers
