Sr. Big Data Architect

Working at a strategic level provide advisory and consulting services to customers on their BigData implementations • Analyze, understand, architect, design and build big data solutions across platforms, verticals and domains
Participate and lead Big Data solution/frameworks innovations in our Labs with the goal of taking them to market • Act as the anchor for our Big Data practice

You should be hands-on engineer and have an inherent passion and self-drive to innovate and create.

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Sound understanding and experience with Hadoop ecosystem both in-prem and on cloud. Able to understand and explore the constantly evolving tools within Big Data and Hadoop ecosystems and apply them appropriately to the relevant problems at hand. 2. Experience in working with a Big Data implementation in production environment 3. Experience in Java, Spark, Map Reduce, RDBMS, Hive/Pig, Python, Big Query, Scala, NiFi, Sqoop, Linux/Unix technologies. 4. Sound knowledge of relational (SQL), No-SQL, Columnar, In-Memory, Graph databases and experience with large SQL based systems. 5. Strong IT consulting experience in various data warehousing/data lake engagement, handling large data volumes, architecting big data environments. 6. Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization techniques and software development in a team environment. 7. Benchmark and debug critical issues with algorithms and software as they arise. 8. Lead and assist with the technical design/architecture and implementation of the Big data cluster in various environments. 9. Able to guide/mentor development team for example to create custom common utilities/libraries that can be reused in multiple big data development efforts. 10. Exposure to ETL tools e.g. Datastage, SSIS, Informatica, NoSQL and knowledge of Netezza a plus 11. Provide infrastructure system expertise, requirements and assistance to Systems and Database Administrators, other System Architects and application development teams. 12. Assist in both external and internal audit questionnaires and application assessments. 13. Assess current technical architecture and estimate system capacity to meet near- and longterm processing requirements. 14. Design and oversee development and implementation of end-to-end integration of infrastructure solutions.
