Sr. Application Developer – Warehouse Management
Description:
*MUST have hands on experience with WMOS 2015 or higher, Oracle Transporation or any TMS (Preferably OTM), and WES (warehouse Execution System These are NON negotiable. Kurt has high expectations and will not slide on these core technologies.
Candidates can work remote.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide level 2 & 3 support for all functions with primary focus on Warehouse Management System.
-Act as Subject Matter Expert for the entire technical organization for these technologies and/or processes:
-All modules of the Manhattan WMoS application suite
-Manhattan hardware and software infrastructure
-Manhattan IFSE, particularly the Manhattan side of all integration points to/from
-Oracle database and stored procedures related to WMoS
-Linux scipt writing and report writing abilities to supplement and enhance WMoS application processes
-Experience developing and managing transactional reports in Supply Chain Intelligence
-Actively engage in ongoing design and implementation of sustainable and scalable infrastructure architecture to support future growth of the WMoS system platform.
-Build out, patching and administration of WMoS application instances and database schemas to support the centralized/distributed architecture
- Collaborates with team members to recommend new software development technologies and development processes.
-Works in a self-directed manner to complete tasks by researching and understanding architecture and business processes.
- Designs, develops, implements, documents, and tests changes to an application subsystem.
-Codes, tests, debugs, documents, and implements complex software applications.
-Creates more complex prototypes and ensures deliverables are high quality and meet user expectations.
-Supports system and integration testing activities.
- Initiates design reviews for new applications and adheres to software development standards.
- Participates in systems planning, scheduling and implementation.
-Collaborates with project team to keep projects on schedule by coordinating activities, monitoring project schedules, and costs.
- Participates in, leads and mentors others in requirements gathering and functional specification activities.
-May assist Functional Analysts in completing deliverables and translates business requirements and functional designs into technical designs.
-Assist with development of functional designs and resolving complex design issues. May act as senior technical expert to consult with and analyze the business needs.
- Resolves and helps mitigate production application issues and assists less experienced application developers as needed.
-Works with other business and technology teams to support resolution of end-user inquiries.
-Contributes to the documentation of production support processes.
-Anticipates long term support issues and plans for corrective actions.
Performs root cause analysis to identify permanent resolutions to software or business process issues.
- Working with application development leads, establishes, maintains and ensures compliance with standards for development, testing and documentation.

Qualifications
Summary of Experience
Requires 6+ years hands-on experience delivering and supporting complex ERP/WMS solutions, including integration with other systems.
4+ years related experience, to include working with a Warehouse Management System, (preferably Manhattan Associates Applications), developing and supporting Java applications, supporting applications on least one primary database system (Oracle, DB/2, MS SQL) and reviewing, translating and refining business requirements into a technical design, code and test logic and making recommendations based upon the analysis of the business requirements.
Experience dissecting performance issues within a WMS architecture and framework including review of databases, indexes, OS interaction in order to give clear direction to issues encountered.
Expert level knowledge of WMS implementations on Oracle database and Linux platforms.
Experience supporting ERP or WMS applications in a wholesale or distribution environment with multiple distribution centers and 24/7 operations.
Requires 2+ years large scale system experience.
Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Why is this role open? What need will this worker fill?
This role is open as we embark on the New York automation project. The knowledge needed and work load requires supplementing the project team to support.
What does a typical work day entail? What are the daily tasks/responsibilities/deliverables?
Working on an assigned area (receiving, inventory, order picking) delivering designs and building the required solutions. Tasks would be building Functional designs, testing designs, working with the sites for business clarity. Configuration, testing, report development, implementation and support post go live.
Interview: Phone screen & reference checks
Project is supposed to go live beginning of May and contract will go to end of May.
A lot of local companies do not use the right versions that are needed and will not work at Starbucks. Does not expect a local candidate to be found, has budget to have a CW travel every other week, one week onsite, one week remote.
The role is to work at times in this building but also remotely. It will be 25% at the SSC and 75% from the own location.
