Job Description :
POSITION: Solutions Architect

Ideally this individual should have significant experience in providing technical solutions in the Banking Core Deposits systems space. Position will focus on systems form the deposits value but also across all business and technical capabilities lines. This candidate should possess strong understanding of banking systems but also present a solid knowledge and experiences in best practices in design and technology.

Financial institution experience would be essential for this position and a strong knowledge of the Financial Industry is also required.

This individual must bring a proactive attitude including a strong instinctive tenacity. This individual must possess very strong communication skills and be adept evoking the appropriate design approach form business goals and strategies.


START DATE: ASAP

ASSIGNMENT DURATION: 6 months contract

EXTENSION: Possibility – possible

FTE: Possibility – probable if sufficient competence is demonstrated

WORK HOURS: 8 hour day – Monday-Friday

OVERTIME: Might be a possibility – implementation support may have to occur at night or on weekends

WORK LOCATION: Chicago, IL Loop

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

Participate in requirement sessions
Guide Design oriented dialogs relative to requirements
Define/prepare current state/future state architectural artifacts
Required to provide key input to recommendation, and technical decisions about architecture



TOP SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

· Strong track record in technology design, implementation and execution

· Familiarity with cloud concepts and ideally has implemented one solution in the cloud.

· Service development and SOA experience.

· Understand a variety of server technologies & platforms

· Able to navigate infrastructure dialogs and designs.

· Agile and iterative development is a strong plus

· Ability to quickly adapt to a rapid delivery life cycle approach

· 10 years in technology and ideally within development or architecture

· Extensive experience working on large scale projects as a solution architect.

· Must have strong industry knowledge and understand in depth industry best practices
Very strong communication skills. They will be working with a number of different groups in the bank. They will have to facilitate discussions. This is very important to the hiring manager.

· Protocols/security – industry practices (advanced but general knowledge)

· Looking for someone with broad knowledge of products/systems (how systems interact with one another - looking for a well-rounded individual who has knowledge/experience.

· Is experienced in leading development teams and in dealing with senior management in business and Technology and Operation areas

· Exhibits solid business knowledge, and advanced knowledge of technology industry, products, and processes, involving exposure to multiple disciplines and/or multiple industries

· Possesses advanced relationship management, communication, and coaching skills

· Demonstrates advanced strategic visioning and planning skills

· Exhibits solid vendor management and negotiation skills

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Operation Systems
Knowledge of deposits products
FIS Systematics Experiences – or other core deposits platforms

SOFT SKILLS/PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Strong team player
Willing to communicate and collaborate with rest of team
Both independent and collaborative

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Possesses a university degree/college diploma in related discipline(s) and/or 10 to 15 years experience in the IT industry
