Solr Search Engineer

Sunnyvale, CA 94085

We're looking for a Solr Search Engineer with 5+ years of experience for a great contract opportunity in Sunnyvale, CA.

As the Solr Search Engineer, you will:

Identify search relevancy challenges and opportunities

Plan and deliver features that support site content search

Collaborate with the front-end team and services team to determine API needs and implementation

Work with product managers to refine and prioritize requirements, estimate and scope work, and time releases

Improve applications automation and monitoring throughout the system

Write clean, portable, and well-documented code

Job Requirements for Solr Search Engineer:

5+ years of development experience

Lead OR Architect level experience

Solid hands-on coding experience

Server-side programming language, preferably a mastery in Java

Elasticsearch/Lucene/Solr experience

Strong understanding of indexing, search, information retrieval and relevance

Understanding of KPIs

Experience with monitoring tools

Relational database and NoSQL experience

Understanding of API design

Experience working on large scale content rich search systems

Understanding of IO issues, disk and network

Bonus Point for:

Machine Learning and predictive modeling techniques knowledge
